For Hololive I am a Tako suffering in DD (Daredemo Daisuki).
I love Ina's penchant for punnery, artistic skill, creative music, and all around fun and comfy vibes. And really, the same goes for the rest of them all of the talents are great! It is fun to watch them work towards their goals and create new songs and ideas for content, and it is especially fun to see their collaborations with each other. EN (and ID when speaking English) are the easiest for me to watch since I don't know Japanese yet, but I tune into non-English ID and JP streams too with the help of some translation add-ons or for events where I don't need to worry about the language barrier. For Holostars, I still mostly watch EN but I like the JP too like "Winning Son" Roberu.
When it comes to Indies, there are some I try to tune into like OniGiri, Nimi, Laimu, Mint, Dooby, Saba, Doki, etc. I also like when YouTube randomly throws me at an unknown indie and I'll tune into new ones as well! Like stumbling across Xin AsuwaFor vtubers as a medium, I think it is such an amazingly fun and flexible concept. There are so many ways to use the medium creatively, from the design of the avatars to imaginative lore and stories to new ideas for experimental content, technology, and ways to interact with fans.As for how I got started, I'm pretty sure it was Pekora who got me started down the vtuber and Hololive "rabbit hole", and then came along EN a bit later with the finishing blow removing the language barrier.
